Prof. YingRen Chien

National Taiwan University

Bio: Ying-Ren Chien (Senior Member, IEEE) received the B.S. degree in electronic engineering from the National Yunlin University of Science and Technology, Douliu, Taiwan, in 1999, and the M.S. degree in electrical engineering and the Ph.D. degree in communication engineering from National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan, in 2001 and 2009, respectively.,He joined the Department of Electrical Engineering, National Ilan University (NIU), Yilan City, Taiwan, from 2012 to 2025, where has been a Full Professor since 2018. He was the Chair with NIU from 2018 to 2025. Since 2025, he has been with the Department of Electronic Engineering, National Taipei University of Technology, Taipei, where he is currently a Full Professor. His research interests include consumer electronics, multimedia denoising algorithms, adaptive signal processing theory, active noise control, machine learning, Internet of Things, and interference cancelation.,Dr. Chien was the recipient of the best paper awards, including the ICCCAS 2007, the ROCKLING 2017, the IEEE ISPACS 2021, the IEEE CESoc/CTSoc Service Awards in 2019, the NSC/MOST Special Outstanding Talent Award in 2021, 2023, and 2024, the Excellent Research-Teacher Award in 2018 and 2022, and the Excellent Teaching Award in 2021. He has been consistently recognized as one of the top 2% scientists in the field of networking and telecommunications since 2020. From 2023 to 2024, he was a Vice Chair of the IEEE Consumer Technology Society Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, and Metaverse Technical Committee. Since 2025, he has been the Secretary of IEEE CTSoc Audio/Video Systems and Signal Processing Technical Committee. He is currently an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Consumer Electronics.

Prof. Yiu-Wing Leung

Hong Kong Baptist University

Bio: Yiu-Wing Leung received his B.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong. He is now Professor of Computer Science in the Hong Kong Baptist University.
 
On the teaching side, he has rich experience in university teaching and curriculum design. In particular, he co-founded the MSc in IT Management programme, and he has been serving as the Programme Director for the MSc in IT Management programme and the MSc in Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence programme. He has received several teaching awards, including the President’s Award for Outstanding Performance in Teaching.
 
On the research side, he has been working on networking (including wireless networks, Internet and cloud computing, multimedia networks and optical networks) and systems engineering (including evolutionary computing and optimization). He has published more than 100 research papers in these areas. His name is listed in the “Top 2% most-cited scientists in the world” by Stanford University in 2020.
